They always responded promptly to our questions and were very helpful during our stay. The villa has a great pool and right on Brighton Beach for great swims and long walks on the beach. It is in a great location. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great stay.

From the moment we booked Tantalus it was an amazing experience. The owners were MORE than accommodating. They responded to every question right away, stocked our fridge full of food, beer and wine for us before arrival so that we were ready to vacation the moment we stepped foot in the house. (due to the Barbados quarantine timeframe) they booked a fabulous chef for us that cooked for my husbands 40th birthday, recommended the best massage therapist that gave us wonderful massages on the top patio of the master bedroom and we’re there for any and all questions. The pool is lovely, the beach is beautiful (lots of sea glass if you like to hunt for it like we do). The weather was great!! The house was huge and we didnt even use all the bedrooms for our 5 adults and two toddlers. Super spacious. The kitchen has everything you would ever need. It was perfect. Highly recommend.

Our family had a beautiful stay. The villa is spacious with plenty of room for the 9 people. The architecture has a Caribbean flavor and the master bedroom overlooking the ocean will knock your socks off. Our flight was delayed 5 hours and JP + Heather had a meal ready in the oven and some groceries for the next day. Recommend you have Shelly cook up a couple dinners - delicious. I like the large balconies that offer plenty of shade. This really is the best VRBO I have stayed at. I would definitely book this again.

Tantalus was a dream. 7 days flew by so quickly. The smell of banana bread welcomes us when we arrived. The villa was very beautiful and spacious. The pictures didn't do it justice. The owners were very helpful and prompt in replying to messages. Would highly recommend this villa to anyone.

Everything was topnotch from start to finish. Communication was first rate. So much room for our family to spread out and enjoy Barbados. We had Shelly cook us dinner one night - it's a must if you stay at Tantalus! Angela was a joy and helped us in one way or another almost every day. JP was an excellent host - best vrbo experience I've had to date. Pool and hot tub were perfect but the beach is exactly what you look for - clean soft sand and beautiful water. Cannot recommend this experience enough. Stores groceries and restaurants all a short drive away. JP recommended Vernon for transportation since we had a large group and parking was at a minimum. Excellent car service! JP has many recommendations- all of which we appreciated. Thank you for a great stay!!

The photos of this property just do not do it justice. I've always been a little apprehensive when booking a private property in comparison to a hotel, but booking Tantalus was hands down the best decision we made. From start to finish it was just magical and the little touches that were left for us made it even more special. In a strange year when Covid has taken away so much from people, we felt safe here with all the special new procedures followed. The rooms, the outdoor balconies and space, the jacuzzi, the pool and the stunning views are better than at hotels I have stayed at. Relaxation is what we needed and Tantalus is situated in a quiet residential area on a beautiful stretch of Brighton Beach. There are some places within walking distance to check out, and on other occasions we ventured further out we were able to arrange taxis and explore this beautiful Island. The property does have a surreal ambience and at times feels like you could be in a nature reserve. The owners 2 adorable dogs made us feel very welcome, not to mention the 3 tortoises we spotted roaming the grounds and the monkey and baby who sometimes popped up. We would definitely stay here again and could not recommend booking Tantalus more.

Tantalus Villa is everything JP’s description and the raving reviews say it is, and more. We were blown away by the accommodations for many reasons – the beauty, awesome pool, hot tub, incredible views, cleanliness, responsiveness and so many others – but mostly because it is so infrequent that our expectations are exceeded by the reality these days. John-Paul and Heather were just incredible with the perfect touch of assistance and hospitality, particularly in a foreign country. In fact, my family’s stay was unique in that I was not able to join them until late in the trip for health reasons and John-Paul and Heather were the perfect hosts for my wife and three kids until I could arrive. The house is incredibly spacious and would easily accommodate a group of 10-15 people. With so many incredible features and qualities of Tantalus Villa, it’s hard to know where to focus for a review like this without going on too long, but I have to highlight the breathtaking view from the master bedroom and the back patio area. You wake up and immediately experience a transformative ocean view. And walking out the back of the villa directly onto the beach was an experience to I had never had before and will definitely come back to experience again. Huge thank you to John-Paul and Heather for their gracious hospitality and helping to make our family vacation a wonderful one!

★★★★★We just spent a wonderful week at Tantalus Villas with another family. The beach was amazing, clean and we had it to ourselves. The house is perfectly designed to fully enjoy the outdoors with ample shaded lounge and dining. It was a treat to be able to get all 9 of us around the table or lounge chairs to relax and enjoy the scenery. The home was amazing, everyone had their own comfortable and clean space.The grounds and flowers are beautiful. The pool is very nice, large and private. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi more than we thought we would. Communication and assistance from JP and Heather was wonderful and much appreciated. It was a pleasure to get to know them and they really made our stay special.I recommend hiring Shelly to cook some dinners for you during your stay. The food was fantastic and it allowed us to fully take advantage of our time there

Our stay at Tantalus Upper Villa was amazing. I was seeking an epic experience for a milestone birthday and this holiday venue surpassed my expectations. Our hosts, JP and Heather, were very friendly and helpful. I had many questions concerning the trip, prior to reserving their villa. They were quick to respond and provided information that was more than helpful. The pool is steps from the house and the pool is steps from a beautiful beach. Sunsets are amazing! There is a friendly staff that keeps the house clean and grounds in fabulous condition. Although JP and Heather live on-site, you would not know when they were there. However, when you do see them, they invite you into interesting and fanciful conversation that could last for as long as you want. All-in-all FIVE Stars! Book now and thank me later. EPIC!
